CAPTAIN MIKE NYAKAS

Mike believes the best environment for learning is allowing nature and the sailboat to present the best platform in a relaxed way while enjoying all aspects of the cruising lifestyle…

CAPTAIN JOHN ENSLEY

Captain John technically learned to sail on a Sunfish at summer camp when he was 11 years old and occasionally sailed small sailboats on lakes and rivers in rural southern Oregon where he grew up.

OWNER MIKE MADLOCK

Go Baja Sailing’s owner, Mike Madlock is a southern California native so trips south of the border to Baja were a regular occurrence and just part of the SoCal culture.

CAPT. TYLER VANRODEN

Captain Tyler started sailing with his older brothers on their 41ft Hudson Seawolf Ketch in 2009. He traveled with them in Costa Rica, Panama, across the Equator, Tonga and the British Virgin Islands.

CAPT. NICK DUCKSTEIN

In the spring of 2001, Capt. Nick’s son broke his finger necessitating a visit to the St Joseph’s ER in Bellingham WA. The attending doctor was world renowned orthopedic surgeon that lived and worked in Bellingham because it was in his words “the best sea kayaking in the world.”

CAPT. CHRIS YOHO

When Captain Chris was 15 years old, he discovered a love for boats while sailing off the California coast in the Channel Islands. In the beginning, he sailed small dinghies and Hobie cats including a Vagabond 14 and Hobie 16.

CAPT. SEAN MALONEY

Capt. Sean learned to sail in 2001 at the Docklands Sailing Centre in London, where he achieved RYA Day Skipper and Coastal Skipper.

CAPT. JULIE TIPTON

Captain Julie got the sailing bug back in the 1980’s when he was stationed in Norfolk, VA. She sailed with a friend who had a boat then took a class and learned on a small boat.

Testimonials

“Thank you for an amazing experience in our ASA sailing training we took in October 2019. The whole experience was on point. I am so happy I brought my wife. She thoroughly enjoyed the one week experience. Boat, Provisions, sailing grounds and Captain John all 5 Star.”

Steve and Mary Davidson

"Quick but grateful thank you for our ASA training last year. We organized our first bareboat out of Corfu 2 weeks ago. We had the best family vaca. If I get down to La Paz again for some sailing I'll give you a shout!"

Steve

“Thanks again for organizing the group from Germany. I had to come to La Paz in August 2019. Everything worked out as expected and we came in way under budget and able to afford the 114 Catamaran course as well. Our entire group recommends Go Baja Sailing!!”
